I'm Free

Kind of a radical change from my normal "overthought" emotional posting... But know that feeling of finding music in your life that is just fun and peppy and real? When you want to share it with everyone?

I am a lyric person... and the two songs on my playlist from Lecrae are among my favorites right now.

The story:

We met our Honduras team at the airport in Des Moines around 5 a.m. What we found when we arrived was Pastor Byron... Normally, I only see him in the context of church. Dressed well, professional. But travel PB was totally different. And even as I think of it I crack up. He knows I mean no disrespect.

So he was telling Matt about some of his favorite groups. Immediately I became that annoying person in the van. Trying to pretend like I wasn't listening while I was hoping and praying that what he was sharing with Matt was something worth sharing.

And we came home and I knew a suspicion I had was on. Matt asked me if we could maybe go try to find a few CDs at the Christian book store. LeCrae and Trip Lee specfically. Christian rap artists. At the Family Christian store the guy tried so hard to help us but he really didn't get what we were after... Christian rap artists. BUT we found them - after a few more texts to PB.

And now we discuss these songs. We sing along with the cd. We laughing about the irony in wanting to blast Christian rap from the car - seems so contradictory but yet so fun!! That's right - Matt and Jantina rebellion right there :=)

And a random story worth sharing... careful it might stick with you too!
